When working in Question or Routing mode, the tree view will always be visible in a pane to the left of the main window. The tree view shows the variable elements of your questionnaire - specifically, questions, folders and loops - in the order in which they will be presented in the survey interview.
A contextual menu containing a number of useful commands relevant to working in Question or Routing mode can be invoked at any time by right clicking on any item in the tree view. The commands available are shown in the table below. Several only apply to one mode, as indicated in the column "Modes". Any commands not available in the mode you are working in will be greyed out when the menu is displayed. Keyboard shortcuts are available for some options in the context menu, as indicated in the column "Shortcut".

Import changes from other survey |
Question, Routing |
Allows you to import changes into a chapter or section of a survey from another survey containing similar questions. If the import is applied to a chapter, all questions, responses, routings and screens for in chapter will be imported, leaving the rest of the survey unchanged. If the import is applied to a question, or a sub-section in the tree containing several questions, such as a loop, the import will be restricted to that one question or to the questions within that sub-section. Questions are matched by shortcut and response items by their entry codes. Before the import is carried out, askiadesign indicates the changes it is about to make and the questions and response items affected, in a pop-up window, as follows:
At this point you may accept the changes by selecting OK, or reject the changes by selecting Cancel. Note: Any existing data will be retained where questions or response items are simply being added.
If any question or response is deleted, all corresponding data for that question or response will be removed. We recommend that you back up the survey before importing changes that result in any deleted questions or responses.

Import questions from platformOne |
Question, Routing |
For clients working with Platform One, a complementary panel and community platform that integrates with Askia, this option allows you to link questions in your Askia survey with questions defined in Platform One. When you attempt to import questions from Platform One, AskiaDesign checks if there are any questions already defined in your survey which are associated with Platform One. If not, you will be asked to select a community from a list of predefined communities. For more information in importing questions from Platform One, see the relevant sections for importing external data from Platform One for closed questions, numeric questions, date questions or open questions. Note: the location of the Platform One configuration file is defined within design options.
