Single-coded questions are variables that require one answer to be chosen from the list of response items. In the question list, single-coded questions are indicated by the icon treeview_single(1).

The following properties are available to the response items:

Note: There is no limit on the number of response items that can be defined for a question. However, when fielding your survey in default mode (i.e. using Access, not SQL), the maximum number of responses that can be given to a closed question is 240. This is due to the inherent limits of Microsoft's Access .MDB format.
