Multilingual questionnaire

Use this AskiaDesign feature to create and manage multilingual questionnaires. By default, when you create a new *.QES file in AskiaDesign, it will be mono-lingual. However, you can add any other languages needed for the survey at any time.

For best practice, you should from the outset specify your questionnaire's default language. If you do not specify one, AskiaDesign will set it to be 2057 - English (United Kingdom).

To access this feature, in the toolbar click . Alternatively, in the edit menu, select languages....

During fieldwork, when you are running a multilingual questionnaire, you need to set the appropriate language during the survey. You can do this by asking the respondent to choose a language, and then switching language depending on his or her answer. You should create a routing instruction (use the  set language action) which will specify the display language of a multilingual questionnaire. When you are defining the routing instruction's action property, you will be prompted to select from the questionnaire’s available languages.

When you want to completely translate a questionnaire for one or more extra languages, we recommend that you use the external AskiaTranslator application.
