Multi-coded questions are variables that require one or more answers to be chosen from the list of response items. In the question list, multi-coded questions are indicated by the icon .

Note: the maximum number of responses you can add to a multi-coded question is 240.

Note: There is no limit on the number of response items that can be defined for a question. However, when fielding your survey in default mode (i.e. using Access, not SQL), the maximum number of responses that can be given to a closed question is 240. This is due to the inherent limits of Microsoft's Access .MDB format.
