Use this function (available only in question mode) to quickly find questions or modalities in your questionnaire, based on text in those questions or modalities. For example, if you can remember that a question contains a particular brand name, you can search for that text. It can also be used to replace multiple instances of specific text in your questionnaire.
To use this function, from the edit menu, select find and replace.... The find and replace window appears.

In the find box, type the text you want to search for. The other options can be used as follows:
Shortcuts: The find operation will search question shortcuts.
Long captions: The find operation will search question long captions.
Short captions: The find operation will search question short captions.
Modalities: The find operation will search modality names.
Current language only: The find operation will only search text that is in the currently selected language.
Match case: The find operation will search for text with identical case to the text you entered (i.e. text with different case - Yes vs. yes - will not be included in the search results).
Click find to carry out the search.

Once the search has been carried out, you can click an item in the search results to display that item in the askiadesign window; if you double-click the item, the find and replace window disappears automatically. You can also click find next to step through the items in the list.
If you want to replace the found text with different text, enter that text in the replace box.
To replace the text in the selected list item (e.g. a short caption in Q2), click replace. To replace it in all list items after the selected item, click replace all.
