By extending Askia's rendering engine, Askia Design eXtensions (or ADXs) provide an easy way to fully customise Askia-generated screen layouts for CAWI interviews. On a technical level, an Askia Design eXtension is a .zip file that contains custom page templates and controls:
Askia Design Pages (ADPs) define the global layout of your survey pages (e.g. mobile-first survey design);Askia Design Controls (ADCs) define the layout of the controls within your survey pages (e.g. Geo Maps). The ADX technology provides a lot of flexibility for web-literate users, but remains simple for people who are not as comfortable with web technologies.
Askia maintains a repository of ADXs, which you can download and use in your own surveys. It also provides a tool called ADX Studio that allows you to define your own ADXs.

ADX Studio is an IDE that allows you to create your own Askia Design eXtensions (i.e. Askia Design Controls and Askia Design Pages). ADCs and ADPs enable you to enhance your surveys with interactive survey controls, such as Geo Maps, touch-friendly drag and drop, etc. and custom layouts (mobile first survey design). ADX Studio allows you to easily set the parameters for your survey controls or layouts, using scripts (AskiaScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and more).
