With loops, AskiaDesign provides an original way to deal with sub-questions, question tables and level issues. In the question list, loops are indicated by the icons , ,   and .

Loops enable you to save time when needing to repeatedly ask question(s) about a list of topics or brands. When deciding to use a loop, this list of topics or brands will become, what we call the "loop’s items".

A loop must have a minimum of two items, and one or more sub-variables. A loop can have another loop as one of its sub-variables: we refer to the latter loop as a "loop of a loop". However, a loop has to have at least one question as one of its sub-variables, because a loop is meant to iterate a list of items about which we wish to ask one or several questions. Therefore, we will use the term sub-question to designate a question which is a loop sub-variable.

A sub-question’s long caption can be contextualised by stating the loop’s item which is currently iterated, that is, the item of the loop which the sub-question is currently addressing. To do so, in the sub-variable’s long caption type the loop variable shortcut

A loop can iterate as many times as it possesses items, that is, a loop’s sub-question will be asked for each of the loop’s items. Follow the links below to read about the various loop types, each of which is illustrated with a brief example.
