Short caption

A variable's optional caption. Specifying a short caption serves two purposes:

  1. It will be referred to in error messages during data-entry (e.g. if the short caption is Q1, "a response is expected for Q1").

  2. It will identify the variable in both askiaanalyse and askiavista.

Note: in the case of a multilingual questionnaire, short captions can be translated for every language.
